JARED OKUN JOINS ROCK CREEK PROPERTY GROUP

January 18, 2011 (Washington, DC)— With more than half a dozen years of commercial acquisition, leasing and financing experience, Jared Okun has joined Rock Creek Property Group as an in-house acquisitions and leasing team member.

Before joining Rock Creek, Jared worked independently and in small boutique commercial real estate firms.  He began his career as an independent acquisitions and syndication source for many local investors. To date, Jared has focused on family owned and middle market transactions.  He has been involved in real estate transactions in excess of $100,000,000 in value.  Later, Jared started in the commercial mortgage brokerage business for Mason Dixon Funding of Rockville Maryland where he underwrote and placed construction, permanent, acquisition and refinance loans for a variety of property types, including office buildings, mixed-use retail, hotel and motel, special purpose and land use deals.

“Jared brings a number of unique skill sets to Rock Creek.  His experience further enhances our in-house capabilities to both source acquisitions off-market and to lease our growing portfolio of office, retail and industrial properties”, says Gary Schlager, principal.  Jared will be immediately assuming office leasing responsibilities for 5185 MacArthur Boulevard, NW and will expand Rock Creek’s acquisitions team in several key target submarkets. 

A graduate of University of Wisconsin- Madison, Jared is a native Washingtonian--growing up in Bethesda and now living with his wife in the District.
